Billy Ray Cyrus Files For Restraining Order Against Estranged Wife

Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife of seven months, Firerose, claiming she is responsible for the fraudulent use of his credit cards.

According to People magazine, Cyrus claims Firerose has charged his card for $96,986 in 37 items and is disputing her use of his assets. He filed an emergency complaint in a Tennessee court on June 13, seeking an injunction to prevent Firerose from using his personal and business credit cards and accounts. The complaint reportedly included a $70,665 payment to her lawyers. peopleFirerose maintained that there was no “emergency” whatsoever and that she was simply living “with the status quo of our marriage.”

The 62-year-old country star expressed concerns about using his card.

“As a result of these fraudulent charges, I am concerned that Ms. Hodges may have obtained other information and is using it to make fraudulent charges to my business and personal credit cards and accounts,” Cyrus wrote in the affidavit, according to People magazine.

He claimed his estranged wife began charging fees from his account on May 23, the day he filed for divorce from Ms Fireose, just under seven months after they were married.

According to People magazine, Cyrus cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital relations as the reasons for the separation, and is now seeking an annulment on grounds of fraud.

In response to the fraudulent use allegations, Firerose claimed that he had access to Cyrus’ American Express credit card since June 2022.

“The wife’s allegations that she filed 37 unauthorized claims are without merit,” her lawyers said in a statement to People magazine. “During the divorce proceedings, the parties will continue to live their lives according to the status quo during their marriage. The wife has simply continued to live her life as before since October 10, 2023, and the husband has no right to sever his relationship with her.”

According to People magazine, Firerose claimed she was using Cyrus’ car with his full permission and said he “regularly looked into” her expenses and transactions.

Cyrus’ complaint notes that the estranged couple do not own any joint accounts, credit cards or real estate, and that Firerose is not an authorized signatory or user on any of Cyrus’ cards or accounts.

Firerose and Cyrus came to an agreement soon after Cyrus filed for divorce, in which she agreed to move out of his house immediately, and according to People magazine, the famous singer agreed to support her for 90 days or until the marriage was dissolved, whichever came first. Cyrus’ complaint stated that he demanded Firerose return items purchased with his credit card.
