Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese has lost three straight games to Caitlin Clark since their last collegiate matchup, and after Clark’s 91-83 loss to the Fever on Sunday, she blasted the referees.
Reese was in foul trouble for most of the game and received a Flagrant 1 for hitting Clark in the head with his forearm, but was asked about the officiating call in the post-game press conference.
She didn’t hold back.
“I thought we played really hard inside,” Reese said. Said“I thought we came out really strong and we didn’t get a lot of calls. Looking back at the film, there were a lot of things that didn’t get called. I think some guys got special whistles, but we just played our best.”
“Some people seem to have special whistles.”

“I’m proud of Camila for going out there and getting a double-double. No matter what the officiating is, this is something that no one can stop. We’ve been here a while. No matter what you do, we’re not going to be stopped. Our goal is to win, and we’re going to do whatever it takes to win, and we’re going to keep doing that.”

Reese hasn’t just been in foul trouble against Caitlin Clark, she’s been in foul trouble all season. She has five personal fouls in six games this year, which is a shocking number considering the Sky have only played 13 games this year. And Reese isn’t the only Sky member to have foul trouble. Fellow rookie Camila Cardozo has five fouls.
Reese scored 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the game, but she missed some easy layups and was probably more responsible for her team’s loss than the referees.
Clark finished with 23 points, eight rebounds and nine assists.
