The entertainer was arrested early Tuesday morning in the Hamptons after allegedly running a stop sign, drifting out of his lane and driving while intoxicated.
The 43-year-old pop star was pulled over in Sag Harbor, Long Island, just after midnight and charged with DUI, running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane. Page 6 report.
Timberlake later appeared in court looking exhausted, wearing a black baseball cap, a gray graphic T-shirt that read “Live Circuit,” and a black short-sleeved button-up. He was released without bail.
According to multiple sources, Timberlake was partying with friends at the American Hotel on Main Street, a two-minute walk from the local police station, before driving off in his car and promptly running a stop sign.
Page 6 The “Suit and Tie” singer was reportedly stopped by authorities shortly outside the hotel.
“He went out to dinner with friends and there were police officers stationed outside where he was having dinner. He pulled his car out and was stopped for a traffic violation,” the source said.
He also underwent field sobriety tests, which required him to stand on one leg, walk and turn, which he failed. TMZ.
Sources said the pop star was glassy-eyed and smelled of alcohol, but refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
When Timberlake was arrested, friends showed up and tried to convince the officers to release him, but he was handcuffed and taken away by police.
His next court appearance is July 26, according to court documents.NumberHowever, the singer does not have to attend the procedural hearing.
Meanwhile, his driver’s license has been suspended in New York state, although sources say he had a license from another state.
