6th innings: South Africa 64-1 (de Kock 41, Markram 9) Ali Khan is given his second over after Jasdeep Singh’s final over. A tidy over is marred by a powerful strike from de Kock at the end. Pongo for six over midwicket. Eight in the over. QDK are yelling ominously. South Africa’s best powerplay of the tournament.
5th innings: South Africa 56-1 (De Kock 35, Markram 8) Left-arm spin from Nostache Kensige. He moves around the wicket with a slightly awkward movement. A stop-motion spinner. Of his first four balls, three were hit for singles, but the last two were too short and punished by de Kock. One was cleanly swept and one cut past point.
Round 4: South Africa 45-1 (De Kock 26, Markram 6) Jasdeep Singh joined the attack and it was a big win for South Africa. 28 runs were scored in the over!
Markram hit a four through the covers and then a single to bring Quinton on strike, a four being pulled through midwicket that proved a short hit. very It was costly. De Kock smashed three successive sixes into the stands, one of them a free hit off a front-foot no-ball. Singh finished the over with a dot and took a deep sigh. So are you and so am I, my friend. South Africa look to be dangerous with the bat for the first time in the tournament.
3rd: South Africa 17-1 (De Kock 4, Markram 1) Aidan Markram joined QdK up the middle and started with a slide to third base. Netravalkar was 1-7 in his first two at-bats. Is it time to get some coding done?

united states of america! Netravalkar hits! Hendricks tries to slam him to the ground, but his shape is off, and his hand comes off the bat as he hits the ball. Corey Anderson hangs on to the steepler. Just barely. And then he holds out his palm as if to say, “What were you worried about?”
2nd: South Africa 13-0 (de Kock 3, Hendricks 9) Paceman Ali Khan came on at the other end at slip, swiftly moving around the wicket in a move reminiscent of Fidel Edwards. De Kock was somewhat restrained, a superb drive thwarted by some fine fielding in the ring and some acrobatics from Shayan Jahangir at backward point. Hendricks was in no such trouble, stepping out to smash a length ball over extra cover for a six.
1st: South Africa 3-0 (De Kock 2, Hendricks 1) Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks are South Africa’s opening batsmen. Saurabh Netravalkar, one of the tournament’s stars, opens the mound and continues his superb form. Six balls landed on the offside the size of a postage stamp and he scored just three runs in an over. The Proteas have been noticeably quiet in the powerplay so far this tournament. Another almost silent start. Maybe you should listen to some Lavigne to get the blood flowing.

Let’s not get greedy. They’re on a great run to advance to the Super 8, where they’ll face South Africa (June 19), the West Indies (June 21) and either reigning champions England or Scotland (June 23). Still, there have been other upsets: Afghanistan swept New Zealand and Canada beat Ireland. Perhaps most importantly, by reaching the Super 8, the U.S. is guaranteed a place in the next T20 World Cup, to be held in Sri Lanka and India in 2026.

USA wins the toss and bowls first
It’s sunny, hot and humid in Antigua. There seems to be a strong wind blowing through the ground, flapping shirts and getting in the way of wigs. Shaun Pollock is in the middle and is saying it’s not going to be a high-scoring wicket (for all you pitch freaks out there, it’s unused pitch number five).
The United States won the coin toss Throw the ball first“We’re going to use an extra spinner,” Aaron Jones said after correctly reading the coin toss. “I don’t think it’ll be much different than what we had in Dallas.”
Aidan Markram admits he wouldn’t have quite known what to do if he had won the toss: “We would have leaned towards bowling as well, but I’m not too concerned about the toss result.”

Hello and welcome to the OBO of the first match of the Super Eight of the T20 World Cup. Pakistan are on a flight home, despite the time of this match being designated prime time on the subcontinent by the ICC, which is saying something. No one expected the USA to still be in good spirits, but they are, and they have been one of the most exciting teams in the tournament, thrashing Canada, keeping their cool against Pakistan and causing some upsets to the powerful Indian batting line-up.
Today’s opponents are South Africa, and although the Proteas have won all their matches so far, they have not been without incident. They have played three of their four matches on tricky wickets in New York, which has left them in a few tight spots along the way. They were forced to finish 12 for 4 against the Netherlands while aiming for 104, and they beat Bangladesh by just four runs, More creaking They won against Nepal by one point.
The pitches in Antigua should suit the batsmen slightly better but it won’t be an easy ride, so look for some great play as the next phase of the tournament begins.
