‘Get that Dog Off Your Board’

Former President Donald Trump has criticized former House Speaker Paul Ryan as “deeply dishonest” and called on Rupert Murdoch and his son Lachlan Murdoch to remove him from their boards of directors.

in post Former President Trump took to Truth Social to slam Ryan, who is on the board of directors of Fox Corp., calling him a “weak and incompetent Republican in Congress (RINO).” Trump’s post came after Ryan said on Fox News Channel’s “Your World” on June 11 that Trump was “unfit for office.”

“No one can trust Fox News, and I am one of them. Their board of directors is a weak and incompetent Republican leader in Paul Ryan,” Trump wrote. “He is a total flippant, a pathetic failed Speaker of the House, and a very dishonest man. Romney was bad, but Paul Ryan made it even worse. As a team they had no chance of winning.”

Trump continued: “Rupert and Lachlan, get that dog off your board. All you need is Trump. Make America Great Again!”

Ryan said in the interview that he does not support President Joe Biden and that his “policies are terrible,” adding that he hates “the fact that” he feels “having to field Republicans” as he did during the 2020 presidential election.

“I voted for him in 2016 because I was hoping to see a different type of person become president,” Ryan added. “I think character really matters, and if he puts himself above the Constitution, as he has, then I don’t think he’s fit to be president.”

The former Marine, now a tech venture capitalist and author, has not even completed his two years in public service.

At 39, it’s fair to say he’s still evolving, but watching him reminds me of what Ann Coulter might be like as an elected politician: intelligent enough, resolutely right, but a little mercurial.

Young and ambitious, he seems most likely to compete with Trump for attention and destabilize the race.

Vance is considered a leading candidate to be President Trump’s running mate.
