Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) told ABC host Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday that it’s “hard to find a dumber person” in Congress than Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).
Greene and Crockett got into a tiff during a late-night House hearing last month, and Crockett’s comments suggest that their animosity has not abated in the weeks since.
“You’d be hard pressed to find someone stupider than me.” Crockett says When Kimmel asked Greene on his late-night show if she was “the dumbest person in Congress.”
The late-night host and the Texas congresswoman discussed the confusion that erupted during a confirmation hearing last month when Greene made a comment about Crockett’s eyelashes, leading Crockett to criticize Greene’s appearance.
The hearing was supposed to discuss Attorney General Merrick Garland and Republican efforts to hold him in contempt of Congress, but it quickly went off track.
“The hearing was supposed to be about the attorney general, right?” Crockett told Kimmel. “So it was supposed to be about Attorney General Merrick Garland. And then she started talking about the judge. [Juan] Merchant.
Marchan is the judge presiding over Trump’s hush money trial in New York.
“It’s late at night and I’m upset. [I’ve] I’ve been here all day, ready to work, and you guys aren’t here. And you guys are still talking about the failed trial. So I had to ask her if she understood, because she’s not very smart.”
The Hill has reached out to Green’s office.
