UFC star Conor McGregor reveals injury that postponed his return to the octagon

Conor McGregor’s His highly anticipated UFC return was postponed due to a broken toe.

UFC president Dana White said last week that the McGregor vs. Michael Chandler bout was UFC 303 The bout later this month was called off following speculation the fight was already in doubt after McGregor’s press conference in Dublin on June 3 was suddenly cancelled on the day of the event.

McGregor shared an update on social media shortly afterwards, saying he had been forced to withdraw due to an unnamed injury.

But on Friday he revealed he broke his toe after “losing focus” during training.

“I’m heartbroken as we were super prepared for this fight,” he wrote in a lengthy Instagram caption. “I lost focus, trained in full gear, took an elbow-to-toe smash and broke my toe clean off.”

“I need a few weeks. There’s no justification for him walking out there being hindered again by his team, by his fans. He’s been seen walking, the next one has to and will be 100% Conor McGregor,” he continued.

“The fans deserve a win and we are so close to winning. We lost a little bit of concentration and had a nasty injury. That’s it. We will take this lesson and move forward. We can get this win back.”
