Morin called her response “a completely political statement” and said it “fails to even acknowledge the fact that (Rachel) is a woman, a mother and a daughter.”
“That is completely It depersonalizes her, it objectifies her,” Maureen told host Laura Ingraham.
The grieving mother said her message to the Biden administration is that the people targeted by criminal immigrants are “American citizens” and the “pillars” of the country.
“My message is, these are Americans. They are the people who help make our country stronger. They are the men and women who run our country, our economy, our families, our churches,” Morin said. “They are the backbone of America. Who are they? We are Americans. And to not acknowledge that my daughter is a human being, a woman, a mother, and to classify her as a statistic, it shows how inhuman they are, how they don’t value life.”
Morin said she did not want her daughter to make political statements and that the family feels Rachel’s loss every day.
“With everything she was a part of in our lives, it’s hard to shake the thought of Rachel being gone,” she said. “We will always remember her and feel a huge hole in our family.”
