71-Year-Old Woman Becomes Oldest Miss Texas USA Pageant Contestant

A 71-year-old beauty contestant has made history as the oldest woman to compete in the Miss Texas USA pageant.

Marissa Teijo Participated Almost 100 Women who will compete for the title of Miss Texas and represent the state at the Miss USA pageant in August came together over the weekend. Daily Mail.

“I am so excited to be a part of this amazing new experience as a contestant in the Miss Texas USA pageant,” the El Paso native wrote on Instagram along with a photo of her face, “and in doing so, I hope to inspire women to strive to be their best selves, both physically and mentally, and to believe that beauty exists at any age.”

A video shared by the contestant shows her working out in the gym to maintain the abs she proudly shows off for her sportswear sponsor.

“There are no shortcuts, work hard and see results,” Teijo wrote in another video of him lifting weights.

Despite the pride and joy she feels in competing, Teijo has also received some negative backlash.

“I’m 70 years old. This is just ridiculous. She’s a walking advertisement for plastic surgery,” one Facebook commenter wrote.

“This is Texas. The bar isn’t that high,” said another.

Even with his haters, Teijo still has his fans.

When she walked at El Paso Fashion Week in October 2023, Instagram commenters wrote that she was their “goals.”
