Conor McGregor appeared to criticize rival Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagles MMA team on Tuesday after a former fighter who reportedly trained with the team was found among the dead in a recent terror attack in the Russian republic of Dagestan.
Islamic militants attacked Christian and Jewish places of worship in Russia’s Muslim-majority southern republic of Dagestan on Sunday, killing at least 21 people. CNNFormer mixed martial artist Gadzhimurad Kagirov was one of the terrorists involved in the attack.
Reports quickly spread that Khagirov had been training at Eagles MMA, a gym in Dagestan owned by former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Nurmagomedov offered his condolences to the victims and their families.
“My condolences go to all the families and friends of the victims,” Habib said. I have written“May Allah save us all from this situation and grant us a calm sky over our heads. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. And everyone, look around yourself, the children you interact with and the people around you. Educating the soul is more important than educating the body.”
On Tuesday morning, Conor McGregor posted to X, “#conorwasright,” referencing his mocking of Khabib’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, ahead of UFC 229, calling him a “terrorist informant.”

“Kagirov has amassed a 2-0 professional record in MMA representing Khabib’s team, defeating Vasyl Ibragimov and Dzhumbulat Bagaev under the GC Entertainment banner in 2021,” MMA News reported. Reports.
