Shortly after becoming the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, JJ Redick was accused of calling a woman the N-word while at Duke University.
Reddick denies the allegations.
“The only time in my life a white man has called me the N-word to my face was when I was working with the basketball team on Duke University’s campus,” wrote Haleema Nash, a Duke alumna and author.
“And today he’s been named the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. What a wonderful world.”

Nash’s allegations have been viewed more than 25 million times as of this writing.
Redick’s camp has denied the allegations.
“No, that has not happened,” the spokesman said. Said TMZ Sports.
Redick, who has never coached before, played a stellar career at Duke and spent 15 years in the NBA before starting his career as an announcer for ESPN. Speculation that Redick could eventually take over as Lakers coach began in earnest with the launch of his “Mind the Game” podcast with LeBron James in 2023.
That speculation proved prophetic as Reddick was named head coach on Tuesday.
