“Squad” member Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.), whose tenure will soon be cut short by his double-digit loss to Westchester County Mayor George Latimer in Tuesday’s primary, has endured a number of embarrassing moments during his two-term career in the U.S. Congress.
Here are the top five worst moments from his tenure:
1. Bowman set off a fake fire alarm to prevent the vote.
Perhaps Bowman’s worst and most infamous act as a congressman was breaking the law in September 2023 by setting off a false fire alarm in the Capitol in order to delay a House vote on the Republican government funding bill until the Senate Democrats’ funding bill had passed.
Bowman, a former principal, claimed he accidentally set off a fire alarm while trying to use an emergency exit to vote. But as reported exclusively by Breitbart News’ Matthew Boyle, Bowman allegedly ripped off two signs that stated that door was for emergencies only, then set off a nearby fire alarm and escaped through a different door on a different floor.

District of Columbia prosecutors charged him with sending a false fire alarm. Petty crime Fines of up to $1,000 are possible.
As part of the plea deal, Bowman paid a fine and formally apologized to the Capitol Police in exchange for the charges being dropped three months later.

2. Rep. Bowman yells in the hallway at his colleague, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY).
Perhaps the second most embarrassing high-profile moment Bowman has experienced as a congressman was when he was photographed yelling at his colleague, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), in a Capitol hallway.
Bowman was yelling at reporters, calling Republicans “cowards” and “timid creatures,” and when Massey walked by and asked Bowman what he was talking about, Bowman began yelling at Massey and tried to physically block the Kentucky senator from getting up from his seat to speak to reporters.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), along with seven others: Reps. Cori Bush (D-MO), Andre Carson (D-IN), Summer Lee (D-PA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Delia Ramirez (D-IL) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).
4. Bowman denounces reports of Israeli women being raped as “propaganda” and “lies”
Even worse than calling Israel a “racist” state, Bowman is accusing Israeli women of lying about being raped by Hamas terrorists in an attack on October 7, 2023. discovered by Politico, “Propaganda was used at the beginning of the siege,” Bowman said of the attack, according to the Jerusalem Post. “We still have no evidence of decapitated babies or raped women, yet they continue to use that lie.”
Bowman later I backtracked. The secretary-general denied making those remarks and apologised, saying: “I voted to condemn sexual violence immediately after the UN presented additional evidence,” adding: “I apologise for my comments and we continue to work to combat all forms of sexual and domestic violence.”
