Kelly Bensimon, who starred on “Real Housewives of New York,” will not be getting married this weekend.
The former reality TV star, who now works as a real estate agent, called off her wedding to investor Scott Ritenour just four days before they were due to exchange vows.
“Ultimately, my decision is nobody’s business, but I understand there is speculation and rumors and I want to put an end to all of that,” Bensimon said. People magazine.

“To be clear, he refused to sign a prenuptial agreement and I refused to marry him. That’s it.”
Bensimon, 56, called off the wedding on Tuesday, issuing a statement saying he was “dismayed by the situation.”

“She was looking forward to an exciting new chapter in her life with Scott, but late Tuesday afternoon the full story came to light,” the statement said, quoting Bensimon as saying.

“My husband thought I would enter into the marriage without any legal protections and put everything on faith, but I have worked really hard as a single mother and have always made wise decisions for myself and my family, and will continue to do so.”
The statement noted that Ritenour “refused to sign a prenuptial agreement, effectively delaying the engagement just days before the wedding.”
Bensimon was previously married to famed fashion photographer Giles Bensimon for nine years before divorcing in 2006. The former couple have two daughters, Shi and Teddy.

Kelly and Scott got engaged over Independence Day weekend in 2023 when Scott proposed while on vacation in Wisconsin.
According to the outlet, the former couple planned to host two weddings, one at his mother’s home in Boston and another for a social gathering in the Hamptons for friends and family.
