Princess Anne’s Husband Provides Update On Her Condition After She Suffered A Head Injury

Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence gave a brief update on Princess Anne’s condition, who suffered head injuries in a horse-related accident on June 26.

This came after the royal family member spent three nights in hospital following the accident at his Gatcombe Park home on June 23. Sir Tim answered reporters’ questions as he left the hospital after visiting his wife. “How is your wife, Sir? Is she OK?” a reporter shouted out. “She’s recovering slowly, thank you very much,” he said in the short video clip shared by ITV’s X. Chris Shipp.

The sound of camera shutters could be heard on the video as people gathered tried to record updates on the incident.

“Is she going out today?” someone asked.

Sir Tim’s reply was curt and swift.

“She’ll come out when she’s ready,” he said.

This is the second update from a royal source on his wife’s condition.

“She is recovering well. Thank you. We are extremely grateful to the medical team and hospital support staff for their expert care, and to the emergency responders who did an amazing job at the scene,” he said on June 25, according to People magazine.

“We have been deeply touched by all the kind messages we have received from so many people near and far – it means so much.”

Buckingham Palace announced that Princess Anne had been admitted to hospital but did not provide details about the circumstances of the accident.

“The Princess Royal suffered minor injuries and concussion following an incident which occurred on the Gatcombe Park grounds yesterday evening. As a precautionary measure, she has been admitted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for observation and is expected to make a full and speedy recovery,” read a statement shortly after the incident.
