‘I Have Guns at Home and Often on My Person’

While answering a question about gun control from a reporter in Australia on Tuesday, Tucker Carlson not only rejected the idea of gun control, but also emphasized that “I have guns at home and I often carry guns when I’m in the United States.”

The reporter suggested that Carlson holds similar views to the Buffalo shooter, who attacked and killed a black American at a grocery store on May 14, 2022, and then moved on to the issue of gun control.

Carlson is Rejected While denying the accusations, he made it clear that his concerns for America were concerns shared and felt by all Americans, regardless of skin color. He said his concern was that our economy was not making people happy and therefore Americans of all races were not having children at a high enough rate to make the population thriving.

He specifically emphasized that this applies to black Americans as well as white Americans, saying, “The reason Americans aren’t having children is because they can’t afford it, and no one in charge cares.”

In his response, Carlson emphasized that noting that black and white Americans have the same concerns is “not an incitement to mass shootings.”

Instead of clarifying Carlson’s position, the reporter asked, “So you support gun control?”

Carlson responded: “You know what? I thought it couldn’t get any more ridiculous than this, but it is. No, I don’t support the government giving itself a monopoly on violence by taking weapons away from law-abiding people so they can’t defend themselves. I don’t believe that.”

He added, “Sovereign citizens have the right to protect themselves and their families. That’s all there is to it. … I have a gun at home and I often carry a gun when I’m in the United States because I want to protect myself and my loved ones from violence. That’s the bottom line.”
