The competitive bodybuilding world received some sad news recently.
On Wednesday, Muscle Contest International announced that contestant Cintia Goldani had died after contracting pneumonia.
She was 36 years old.
“It is with great pain and sadness that we announce the passing of professional figure athlete @cintiagoldanipro due to complications from pneumonia,” the account said in a statement. According to the Daily Mail“Cynthia was an angel in human form. God needed help up in heaven.”
The account added that Goldani is the presenter for the “Figure” category of the women’s bodybuilding competition, whose latest competition is scheduled to take place in Curitiba, Brazil, on July 20-21.
The larger “Brazilian Muscle Contest International” event will also be held on the same day, offering participants the chance to qualify for professional and Olympia events.

Goldani appears to have run a bodybuilding coaching service, instructing clients on poses, and according to an April 30 post on a related Instagram account, the service was “specialized in training women for continuous performance and evolution.”
Goldani also posted a photo of herself performing cable lateral raises on her account on June 17.
Goldani also advertised an “amateur bodybuilding event” to be held in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul on October 12.
Goldani’s partner, Gustavo Cesar GC, posted a tribute to him on his Instagram account.
“This is the last picture I have of you on my phone. This is how I want to remember you forever!,” a fellow Brazilian bodybuilder wrote, according to the Daily Mail. “You had a happy smile and amazing energy – you were the best human being I’ve ever met in this world!”
“I want to thank you for all you have done, I thank you every time I see the sunset…Thank you, Cynthia. You are made of pure and true love. God wanted to bring you closer to Him and away from the evil of this world. I wanted to spend my days happily with you as I always have.”
