LIV Golf star Phil Mickelson lit up the mood during Thursday night’s CNN presidential debate after President Biden and former President Trump discussed their handicaps.
Mickelson wrote to X on Friday that he didn’t think the two leaders had any personal conflict until the golf match.

“Watching the debate last night, I felt like it never got personal until it turned to golf handicaps and who can hit the longest drive. As a golfer, I understand,” Mickelson wrote.
Trump addressed the issue while speaking about his own health, saying he recently “won two championships, not the senior championships, but the regular club championships.”
“You have to be pretty smart to do that and you have to be able to hit the ball a long way, but I can do that,” he continued.[Biden] He doesn’t do that. He can’t hit the ball 50 yards. He challenged me to a game of golf and he can’t hit the ball 50 yards.”

Biden was challenged on this claim, claiming that he was able to lower his handicap to six while he was vice president.
But Trump, an avid golfer, didn’t believe it.
“The biggest lie is that he’s a six handicap,” he replied.
Fellow LIV circuit golfer Bryson DeChambeau floated the idea of hosting a match between President Trump and President Biden on his YouTube channel.
