Missing mom Martha Unger, kids may have been ‘coerced’ to go to Mexico

A rural Kansas mother and her two young daughters suddenly disappeared over the weekend, and investigators believe they may have been forcibly sent to a religious rehab facility in Mexico.

Martha Unger, 23, and her daughters, Madilyn Grace Unger, 2, and Haley Faith Unger, 1, were reported missing from their rural Haskell County home just before 7 p.m. Friday. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation posted on Facebook:

Authorities say the young family may have been forcibly taken out of the country by a couple in their 50s.

“Investigators believe they may have been coerced into traveling to a religious rehabilitation facility in Mexico with Corney and Elizabeth Klaassen,” the KBI said in a post that included a photo of the elderly couple.

Authorities are calling on the public to help search for missing family members.

The Classens are believed to have been driving a black and white Chevrolet Blazer with Mexican license plates. Corney is described as a man, approximately 6’2″ tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. He is clean shaven and was last seen wearing jeans and a button-down shirt.

Authorities have not released a description of Elisabeth Klaassen, but photos provided of the couple show them both to be white, with brown hair and glasses.
