Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas received a subpoena from the House Judiciary Committee on Friday demanding long-awaited records relating to nine immigrants suspected of horrific crimes, including the rape of a disabled girl and a mob attack on two New York Police Department officers.
According to documents obtained exclusively by The Washington Post, the Department of Homeland Security has until 9 a.m. on July 17 to hand over documents about the suspects.
“So far, your response without mandatory procedures has been insufficient,” Rep. Him Jordan (R-Ohio), the committee’s chairman, said in a scathing cover letter to the filing.
Jordan accused Mayorkas of deliberately stalling for “months” despite the committee’s repeated requests for information dating back to October 2023.
Among those they want more information on are an illegal immigrant who attacked two NYPD officers, an illegal immigrant accused of raping a 15-year-old girl, and an illegal immigrant accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl.
Since October 2023, the committee has been requesting details of suspected illegal immigrant criminals, but Mayorkas has not provided any such information.
Most recently, in April, the committee requested A-files on numerous undocumented immigrants accused of crimes, including six immigrant men to whom Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) offered plea deals for a mob attack on two New York Police Department (NYPD) officers.

Among the suspected illegal immigrant crimes for which the committee issued subpoenas to Mayorkas was the rape of a 15-year-old girl at the hands of a Haitian immigrant in Massachusetts in March.
The committee also is seeking details about an illegal Venezuelan immigrant who is accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl in Campbell County, Virginia.
