Several US military bases in European countries, including Germany and Italy, were placed on heightened alert over the weekend.
Bases such as the U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart, Germany, the U.S. Army Base Rheinland-Pfalz, and the U.S. Army Air Base Ramstein, Germany, placed According to Charlie’s threat level, Stars and Stripes.
This comes after the Stuttgart-based US European Command (EUCOM) raised the threat level for “Charlie.”

According to the Army’s website, the highest “Delta” threat level is applied “to the immediate area where a terrorist attack has occurred, or when information is received indicating an imminent terrorist act against a specific location or person.”
According to the media, EUCOM said in a statement that it “continues to review” factors that could affect “the security of U.S. military communities overseas.”
