The Biden administration’s Surgeon General, Vivek Murthy, recently issued the first Surgeon General’s Advisory on “firearm violence.”
“Today, for the first time in the history of our agency, I am issuing a Surgeon General’s Advisory on Firearm Violence,” Murthy said in a video statement. “This advisory outlines the imminent threat that firearm violence poses to the health and well-being of our nation.”
“Unfortunately, this problem continues to grow,” he continued. “The Surgeon General’s recommendations outline the approach we must take to address gun violence as a public health crisis.”
Murthy said that approach will include “implementing community violence prevention programs and risk reduction strategies, improving access to mental health care for people exposed to or at risk for firearm violence, and expanding research funding to inform and evaluate our prevention strategies.”
The Surgeon General also asserted that racism is a public health emergency.

“You know, when there’s a public health emergency like COVID-19, the government can assert all kinds of powers,” Glenn explained, adding that “the government is using that word very carefully.”
They are not only trying to gain power but also ignoring the real causes of the rise in “communal violence”.
“Why has it become so dangerous to walk through our neighborhood? There are other crises going on, but he doesn’t want to talk about them. He wants to talk about evil guns and people who want guns. It’s a public health crisis,” Glenn said.
