President Biden has reportedly not been in contact with Democratic leaders following his disastrous debate performance that cast doubt on his ability to seek reelection.
Biden, who suffered a crushing defeat in the first presidential debate of the election season last week, has not been in contact with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), according to NBC, and has reportedly not spoken directly with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.).
However, White House chief of staff Jeff Zients reached out to both Schumer and Jeffries after the debate, NBC reported.

A White House spokesman told Fox News Digital on Tuesday that “there have been meaningful communications at a senior level” between Biden and Congress, though the spokesman did not provide details about those internal conversations.
Democrats are currently strategizing for the November elections at both the federal and state levels.
