The call is coming from within the House of Representatives.
Representative Lloyd Doggett of Texas is the first Democrat to President Biden Trump defended his record at a debate last week and announced he was dropping out of the 2024 presidential race, saying he had “failed” to reassure voters he was fit for the office.
Recognizing Biden’s achievements for the party, Doggett says “Many Americans are unhappy with the choice made in this election,” the statement said Tuesday.
“President Biden continues to trail well behind Democratic senators in key states and also behind Donald Trump in most polls. I had hoped the debate would provide momentum that would change that, but that did not happen. Instead of reassuring voters, the President failed to effectively defend many of his accomplishments and expose many of Trump’s lies,” the 77-year-old Democrat said. ….read more
