Weeks after his conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm, Hunter Biden attended a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House on Wednesday posthumously honoring two Civil War soldiers.
Biden was spotted at the White House as his father posthumously awarded the military’s highest honor to Union soldiers, Privates Philip Gephardt Shadrack and George Davenport Wilson, who were part of a Union unit that stole a Confederate train during the war in what became known as the “Great Locomotive Chase.”
During Wednesday’s ceremony, the oldest surviving relative of each soldier accepted the award.
Hunter Biden has a major conflict of interest as a top adviser to a potential pardon recipient.

Sitting in the audience was the president’s son, who was convicted in June of making a false statement regarding a gun purchase, false statements regarding information required to be kept by federally licensed gun dealers, and possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user or addict of a controlled substance.
Biden lied on federal paperwork when he was asked if he was an illegal gun user or addicted to controlled substances while trying to buy a gun from a gun shop in Delaware.
He has long been a target of Republicans because of his troubled past and potential influence within his father’s administration, most recently with House Republicans infuriated by reports that he had attended White House meetings with President Biden in recent days.
Rep. Greg Stube (R-Fla.) called Hunter Biden a “walking national security threat.”
“He raised over $20 million for Biden from foreign entities, including the Chinese Communist Party. [family]”He’s also the owner of the infernal laptop that the FBI is investigating. … Does Hunter have the necessary clearance to attend a high-level White House meeting with his father?” Steve previously told Fox News Digital.

During Wednesday’s ceremony, Biden recalled how Shadrack and Wilson fought and died “in defense of our Union and the sacred values on which it is founded: liberty, justice, fairness and unity.”
“Philip and George were willing to shed blood to realize these ideals,” Biden said.
The two men were members of a group of volunteers organized by a Kentucky-born civilian spy and scout named James J. Andrews, whose mission, calling itself Andrews’ Raiders, was to undermine the railroad and telegraph lines used by the Confederate Army in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
On April 12, 1862, nearly 20 men hijacked a train called “The General” in Georgia. They destroyed the tracks and cut telegraph wires as the train headed north.

After being pursued by Confederate forces, they were finally captured: Andrews and seven others were executed, while the rest either escaped or remained prisoners of war.
