An illegal immigrant from Honduras has been charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Iowa, Fox News Digital has confirmed.
This is the latest case of a crime allegedly being committed illegally in the country.
According to Iowa court documents obtained by Fox, 18-year-old Manuel Dubon Benitez has been charged with second-degree sexual abuse in an incident that occurred in February and allegedly involved the “sexual abuse of a 12-year-old Jane Doe.”
The documents were first reported by the Washington Examiner, which reported that Benitez pleaded guilty on May 14 in Black Hawk County District Court in Iowa.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) told Fox News Digital that Duvon Benitez is a Honduran national who entered the country illegally through Hidalgo, Texas, in April 2022. ICE said it issued a detention order to the prison, requesting that upon his release, he be turned over to the agency for removal proceedings.
The charges come amid an ongoing crisis at the southern border that has become one of the biggest political issues in the country due to a number of high-profile crimes allegedly committed by undocumented immigrants.
