Ex-NFL Player Daniel Muir and Wife Charged with Child Abuse After Missing Teen Son Found Safe

Former Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Daniel Muir and his wife have been arrested and charged with child abuse after their missing 14-year-old son was found safe.

The couple’s son, Bryson, had been missing since his grandmother called police last week, concerned about his safety. But on Wednesday, police report Fox News reported that the boy was seen returning to his home and was found unharmed.

However, Indiana State Police and SWAT team members executed a search warrant Wednesday morning as part of an investigation into allegations of child abuse.
Muir and his wife, Christine, were arrested on suspicion of child abuse and taken to the Cass County Jail.

The 40-year-old former NFL player was charged with one felony count of obstruction of justice and one misdemeanor count of domestic violence. His wife, 38, was charged with one felony count of obstruction of justice.

Investigators realized the seriousness of the situation after police found photos of Bryson’s blue mark around his eye. After an investigation, it was determined that both of the boy’s parents had refused to cooperate with investigators looking into the boy’s welfare.

Following his parents’ arrest, Bryson was placed into the custody of the Cass County Department of Child Services.

Muir was an undrafted player by the Green Bay Packers in 2007, then signed with the Colts the following year, where he spent three seasons, before bouncing around the league after being cut and fired several times before retiring in 2013. Muir currently serves as a pastor at Stateway Truth Ministries in Logansport, Indiana.
