Suspect in Murder of CEO’s Wife Out on Suspended Sentence in Gascon’s L.A.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón has been criticized for promoting radical criminal justice “reform” policies in the wake of the murder of a New Zealand CEO’s wife by a convicted robber who was released on probation.

CBS News report Patricia McKay, 68, was robbed at gunpoint along with her husband, who was visiting from overseas, and in the ensuing altercation she was hit by a car and killed.

Police say a 68-year-old woman visiting from New Zealand was walking with her husband just outside a shopping mall in Newport Beach when she was robbed and murdered by three men.

Patricia McKay was outside the Fashion Island Mall shopping center near Santa Rosa Drive and Newport Center Drive around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when two men approached her and her husband and attempted to rob them. One of the suspects was allegedly armed with a handgun, according to Newport Beach Police.

McKay was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was found Found in the car park just outside Barnes & Noble Bookstore.
