At an Independence Day celebration on the campus of Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah, a firework accidentally fell into the crowd during the singing of the national anthem, injuring several people, one of them seriously.

Six people were taken to hospital after out-of-control fireworks struck attendees at a Stadium of Fire event at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Thursday. ABC4.
The fireworks shot up into a sunlit sky and video showed sparks flying horizontally into a crowd near the stage, where attendees were reported to be waving for help from authorities.
Freedom Festival, which organizes the fireworks show, posted that all fireworks were “thoroughly inspected” before Thursday’s show and were inspected again after the incident.
“Safety is of the utmost importance to us. All fireworks at the Stadium of Fire are thoroughly checked before any show and have been checked again following tonight’s incident. Our hearts go out to those affected and we are following up to ensure they are safe.”

Despite the incident, the concert resumed, with the Jonas Brothers taking to the stage at approximately 9:00 PM and completing the show with no other reported incidents.
