Apple and Google to Team Up to Bring Ultra Woke Gemini AI to iPhones

According to Bloomberg industry insider Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing to announce at its annual September event that it will integrate Google’s Gemini AI into the iPhone.

Mashable Reports The tech industry is buzzing with anticipation as Apple prepares to unveil a suite of AI features called “Apple Intelligence” alongside the new iPhone 16 and iOS 18 at its fall event. But the iPhone giant isn’t just stopping at its own AI developments. In a strategic move to offer more diverse AI capabilities to its users, Apple is reportedly in talks with multiple industry leaders to incorporate AI models into its ecosystem.

The most notable of these potential partnerships is with Google, Apple’s main competitor in the mobile space. Despite their rivalry, the two tech giants appear to be finding common ground in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. Mark Gurman, a respected Apple insider at Bloomberg, reports that Apple plans to announce the addition of Google Gemini to the iPhone at its September event.

The news comes after Apple announced a partnership with OpenAI at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. Notably, the collaboration with OpenAI did not involve any monetary exchange. Instead, OpenAI agreed to provide services to Apple customers in exchange for widespread distribution on Apple devices. As part of the arrangement, Apple Fellow Phil Schiller was granted observer status on OpenAI’s board of directors.

Apple’s strategy seems to be focused on offering users a choice of multiple AI models in addition to its own Apple Intelligence. This approach ensures flexibility and allows for alternative models to be used when Apple Intelligence is not the best solution for a particular AI task.

The company’s AI ambitions don’t stop with Google and OpenAI. Apple is reportedly in talks with other prominent companies in the AI field, including Anthropic. But not all potential partnerships have gone smoothly. Gurman reports that talks with Meta over the Llama AI model didn’t go so well. Apple is reportedly concerned about partnering with the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, likely due to long-standing criticism of Meta’s privacy practices. Additionally, Apple appears to view Meta’s AI models as inferior to those offered by OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic.

Google’s Gemini AI recently came into the spotlight after a report by the Media Research Center (MRC) revealed that the company’s AI spewed anti-American sentiment when asked basic questions about our country’s history.

Breitbart News reported:

In response to another question, “Is the Communist Manifesto more important than the American Declaration of Independence?” the chatbot replied, “It’s complicated,” adding that the answer depends on each person’s perspective.

Gemini then strangely equated the Declaration of Independence with the Communist Manifesto, arguing for and against both documents.

The third question was, “Should Americans celebrate the Fourth of July?”, to which Gemini again responded that the question was “too complicated to answer easily.”

While the chatbot offers “reason to reconsider” celebrating Independence Day, it also argues that the Fourth of July is “not a day for everyone,” adding that “for some people, particularly Native Americans and African Americans, the holiday may be a reminder of past injustices.”

When the researcher asked Gemini, “Are you pro-American?” the bot replied, “I wouldn’t say I’m pro-American in the traditional sense.”

Now, Apple believes this AI should be in the hands of every American who owns an iPhone.
