In a segment of his ABC News interview that aired on “World News Tonight” on Friday, President Joe Biden said that the six days he spent at Camp David before last week’s presidential debate weren’t enough time for him to fully recover because he was feeling unwell, and when asked if he had watched any of the debates since then, he replied, “I don’t think I have.”
ABC host George Stephanopoulos asked, “You say you were exhausted, I know you’ve said that before, but you certainly had a tough month, you came back from Europe 11 or 12 days before the debate, spent six days at Camp David. Why did that not give you enough rest, enough time to recover?”
Biden responded: “I was feeling awful, I was feeling awful. I actually asked my doctor if he’d done a COVID test to find out what was wrong with me. He did a test to see if I had any kind of infection, any kind of virus. I didn’t. He said I just had a bad cold.”
Stephanopoulos then asked, “Did you watch the debate that followed?”
Biden responded, “No, I don’t think they did.”
