Chris Rufo: Street protests give the regime an excuse to censor you

America’s most powerful institutions are being infiltrated by wokeism, cultural Marxism, anti-Americanism, the list goes on.

Many Americans are shocked by public schools that indoctrinate students with critical race theory and LGBT agendas, public universities that offer intimate celebrations for graduates who belong to protected minority groups, and hospitals that “transition” minors.

They were joined by Christopher Rufo, a conservative activist and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute. James Poulos Discuss how to fight back.

Over the past few years, Rufo has worked as an activist in critical race theory, radical gender ideology, and DEI, rising to the prestige of publicly fighting revolutionaries and winning. He recently uncovered that doctors in Texas Children’s Hospital’s underage gender reassignment program were committing Medicaid fraud, and he was instrumental in passing legislation, including SB17 in Texas, that bans DEI offices in public schools across the country.

Rufo argues that conservatives should avoid “street protests of any kind” because “disorder in the streets justifies censorship.” For the right, he argues, “public demonstrations are too risky, with very little upside and huge downsides.”

But Rufo doesn’t believe all protests are equal: “If you want to protest, if you want to express your concerns publicly, make sure you do it in a way that’s beyond reproach,” he said.

“Please do so within the constraints and structures of a legitimate, democratic and fair function such as a school board.”
