Wimbledon 2024: Alcaraz, Sinner, Radacanu and Gauff in action on day seven – live | Wimbledon 2024

Welcome to Middle Sunday coverage of the goings-on at SW19, where after that sad, sudden farewell to Andy Murray it’s back to the action, where the round of 16 is upon us. Later on, Emma Radacanu, with that dodgy wrist, will take on Lulu Sun, the New Zealander, and the women’s draw is dominated by the Americans, with Coco Gauff on the stage, against Emma Navarro. We begin with Spain’s Paula Badosa against Croatia’s Donna Vekic. In the men’s draw it’s the big guns in action with Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and then later a big clash between Grigor Dimitrov and Danniil Medvedev.

Important Events

Paolini won the match 3-0. She beats Keys from behind and sprints down the line like a monk. She’s totally in tune with herself and it’s impressive to watch. Meanwhile, in the second, Vekic beats Badosa to make it 2-1 after the first stroke.

Paolini is on the offensive. Given her opponent, there was nothing to say, and she quickly recorded a break to take a 2-0 lead, as she kept Keys going and looked the more confident player.

There are so many more! At the Centre, Emma Raducanu vs Lulu Sun and Emma Navarro (19) vs Coco Gauff (2) will close out the day’s action, while the top seeds will feature Jannik Sinner (1) vs Ben Shelton and Grizzly Dimitrov (10) vs Daniil Medvedev (5), with the final match set to be a highlight of the day.

On the second court, Paula Badosa and Donna Vekic started the game, and after 1 hour and 30 minutes, Carlos Alcaraz (3) and Hugo Humbert (16) came into the center.

Ok, let’s go – Paolini will serve.

Thanks, John Hello everyone, Jasmine Paolini and Madison Keys are pregnant ahead of what should be a great match.

Paolini has found herself this season as a skilled, determined and energetic player. But Keys is one of the best players not to win a Grand Slam in the last decade or so. There are many players less skilled than her. When she’s on her game, her power game is nearly irresistible. I’m not going to lie. She’s been a favorite player on this blog for years, so again, maybe it’s her time.

When it’s time to play actual tennis, I’ll let Daniel take over and run the court.

Email: “Hi John. Am I the only one who finds it frustrating that the Wimbledon website, app and twitter stream don’t seem to state the start time of off-court action? No match ever starts before the scheduled kick-off time. I’ll be following the Guardian for updates today. Best of luck from Mike in Winchester.”

It’s best not to play before noon.

Big shock? Or maybe Iga Swiatek, like Ivan Lendl did back in his day, realised he couldn’t play grass-court tennis?

Then we see Emma Ladakanu, who is dealing with a wrist problem, take on New Zealand’s Lulu Sun. The Americans dominate the women’s side, with Coco Gauff taking on Emma Navarro. We start with a match between Spain’s Paula Badosa and Croatia’s Donna Vekic. On the men’s side, we see some big names like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, followed by a big battle between Grigor Dimitrov and Daniil Medvedev.
