Biden Has ‘Classic Features’ of Parkinson’s Disease

Neurologist Dr. Tom Pitts told the streaming channel NBC News Now on Monday that although he hasn’t examined President Joe Biden, he is showing classic symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.

“As a neurologist, my first question for you is, as you’ve watched the president over the last two years, what’s happened in the debates, his last few interviews, the way he talks, the way he walks, have you noticed anything that would alarm you as a physician?” host Tom Llamas said.

“The irony is that he has a classic feature of neurodegeneration – difficulty finding words – not because he can’t find the words, but because of degeneration in the word retrieval area,” Pitts said.

“He also conquered studship,” Llamas said. “Maybe that’s part of it?”

“This is not a palate issue or a pronunciation discrepancy,” Pitts said.

He added: “Because he said he had a cold, especially in a low voice, hypophonia – a low, monotonous voice over a long period of time – is a hallmark of Parkinson’s disease. They could have diagnosed it from across the mall.”

He concluded: “He certainly has the ability. The problem is, if you look at his situation, his inability to recall the words means he didn’t know what he wanted to say, and therefore he and Trump should not be put through a four-hour neuropsychological evaluation, which is the gold standard for cognitive ability.”
