‘Time to Pass the Torch’

Actress Mia Farrow changed her stance on President Joe Biden on Wednesday, saying that after defending him last week, it’s now time to “pass the baton.”

In her post on X, Mia Farrow repeated the same points that Democratic leaders have made in various interviews.

“It’s time to pass the baton or we will lose the Senate, the House and our democracy.” Rosemary’s Baby Starr said.

Farrow added, “Even if Joe refuses to resign, I will still vote for him.”

“Yes, but he lost. We will never surrender this country to Trump,” she said, referring to an op-ed by actor George Clooney in the New York Times calling for Biden to resign.

“Clooney is describing Biden as the person he was at the debate, not the person he once knew. They were together three weeks ago, so it’s not just about that night. I care deeply about our democracy and I hope he nominates another competent Democrat to carry on Joe Biden’s great work and win,” she said.

Farrow’s comments are a clear departure from the sentiment he expressed on July 3, when he said Joe Biden was “the best president since Johnson.”

“Joe Biden is not an argumentative person and he’s not much of a communicator these days. But he is a great decision-maker and the best president we’ve had since President Johnson. He has surrounded himself with smart, knowledgeable people who care deeply about our country and our way of life. If Joe decides to stay in office, I’m sure he and his team will continue to make the right decisions for the American people and the world,” she wrote.
