Jamal Adams has agreed to a one-year deal with the Titans to return to the NFL, according to ESPN.com.
The former Jets All-Pro safety has struggled with injuries in recent years, but if healthy he has a chance to start for a rebuilding Titans team.
Adams tore his quadriceps in Week 1 of the Seahawks’ 2022 season, missing the entire season and forcing him to consider retirement.
Adams also infamously lashed out at a doctor in Week 4 after being ordered to sit out the Seahawks’ 24-3 win over the Giants last season because of a concussion.
The Seahawks waived Adams after the season, raising questions about whether he would remain with the team in 2024.
He was placed on injured reserve in Week 14 with a knee injury that has left him in pain for several weeks.
Adams is a three-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time All-Pro selection, including a first-team All-Pro selection in 2019, all with the Jets.
The Jets traded Adams to Seattle in 2020 for two first-round picks that ultimately acquired Alijah Vera-Tucker and Garrett Wilson.
Tennessee currently has Amani Hooker and Elijah Molden playing the starting safeties position.
