Samsung has launched the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Ring to compete with Apple.
The tech giant announced that both new devices will be officially launched on July 24 alongside the Galaxy Watch7, the seventh generation of its standard smartwatch.
Samsung says that when the 47mm Galaxy Watch Ultra launches, it will have a number of features that are likely aimed at sports and health enthusiasts, including “multi-sport styles” suited for triathlons and AI-powered “functional threshold power” measurement for cycling.

Samsung said the Galaxy Watch Ultra has a grade 4 titanium frame and is water resistant to 10 ATM, making it “extremely durable.” The company said the watch also features a “quick button.”

The new smartwatch is expected to compete with the Apple Ultra Watch, which the Cupertino-based Samsung company first unveiled about two years ago.
Samsung says the Watch Ultra will build on “the foundation of advanced health monitoring capabilities and powerful hardware from the Galaxy Watch 7.” Notable features of the Galaxy Watch 7, according to the company, include “workout routines” and “body composition” features, as well as sleep apnea tools and other health monitoring features.

Meanwhile, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Ring will focus on “monitoring, tracking and providing personalized insights on your health while you sleep, comfortably worn on your finger,” the company said.
The company has set the US price at $399.99.
It uses AI to analyze sleep indicators and increase the wearer’s “awareness of the impact of health on daily life” through an “energy score” that includes recommendations.

Other features provide insights into your heart rate and activity.
When the Galaxy Ring launches later this month, it will join the Oura Ring and similar products already on the market.

Samsung also emphasized the interconnectivity of its devices when announcing the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Watch Ultra: the company said the Ring can be used to turn off your phone’s alarm, for example, and that pairing it with the Watch will extend battery life.
Samsung is scheduled to announce its second-quarter financial results on July 31st.
The company reported total revenue of $52.4 billion in the first quarter. Operating profit for the three-month period was $4.8 billion.
