The DEI Dismantlement Act would eliminate such practices in government and eliminate DEI offices “across all agencies” of the federal government, Rep. Michael Cloud (R-Texas) said in a television appearance on Wednesday. Breitbart News Daily.
Cloud explained that the government’s so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiative isn’t what everyone thinks it is on the surface. Rather, it’s actually an exercise in critical race theory (CRT), something that “looks nice, but is being forced on the American public.” It forces people to look at race first, rather than ability or character, he explained.
“So we passed legislation and eliminated DEI practices in government,” he said, explaining that he would rescind DEI-related executive orders and close numerous DEI offices “across all government agencies.”

“This law prohibits federal funding for DEI activities that ensure equal treatment,” he said, explaining that DEI practices are also mandatory for federal contractors. He added that government agencies should not hire diverse people for diversity’s sake.
Host Mike Slater pointed to a CIA recruitment ad in which a Hispanic woman with anxiety disorders advertised her position with the agency, saying, “I got in here on my own, I worked my way up through the ranks.”
As she spoke, Slater pointed out a panoramic photo of her office, where the Donald R. Cryer Diversity and Inclusion Award and the Intelligence Community Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Excellence Award are on display.
“That’s how she got to her position,” Cloud said, emphasizing that DEI is actually a “disincentive” in many ways. This is why there are recruiting problems, she added, because young people don’t want to support a woke Pentagon.
Cloud said he is currently working on finding sponsors for the bill, but “every time I hear about it, people are buying into it.” Most notably, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), a rumored running mate for former President Donald Trump, is leading the Senate version of the bill.
“This is something I would love to see President Trump sign,” Cloud added.
