Jerry Rice threatens to ‘f–k up’ reporters over Chiefs question

Jerry Rice would not respond to further questions.

During a practice round at the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament on Thursday, Rice got into a heated argument with two journalists who approached him.

Two Kansas City-based journalists approached Rice during a round of golf and asked him whether he thought this year’s wide receiver corps, led by Patrick Mahomes, was “good enough to win another Super Bowl.”

Rice initially ignored the question and walked away from reporters.

But after a few seconds, he decided he had something to say after all.

Warning: explicit language

The Hall of Famer was heard on video explicitly saying to one reporter’s face, “I’m going to kill you.” Obtained by TMZ Sports.

“If you want it, come and get it,” Rice said as she was led away from reporters.

Rice, 61, told TMZ Sports he thought reporters were criticizing him following the 49ers’ loss to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in February, claiming they asked him questions while smirking.

“I’m going to defend the San Francisco 49ers,” Rice told the outlet. “This is my history.”

Two Starrcade Media employees insisted they did not intend to upset Rice by asking questions.

“No disrespect was intended toward Jerry or the 49ers when asking this question,” they said.

The two posted on their Facebook page that they wanted to know if Kansas City’s 2024 wide receiver class “has developed enough to continue winning at a high level.”
