When your opponent is digging themselves a hole, it is wise to let them continue.
This is not a substitute for having a good offense. One cannot rely on the tendency of self-destruction alone. So Republicans should continue to hone their message, improve their ground game, and fight for election integrity. Getting cocky at this stage could prove fatal. We already know our opponents will cheat where they can. But having your opponent in disarray, and keeping them in that condition is advantageous.
That said, Republicans should be happy with the “Big Boy Press Conference results.” The “Big Boy” conference was, of course, the most recent rare press conference given by President Biden at the recent NATO conference. This was billed as his chance to make amends for his horrible debate performance.
For many, while there were a few bloopers like introducing the head of Ukraine as Putin, and calling Donald Trump his Vice-President, with the assistance of staff in his earpiece, he managed to seem like he was in command of the information and was capable of putting a few thoughts in logical order. This will encourage those who want him to stay in the race and cause some of his critics to dial back their criticism.
The best scenario we see is Biden’s survival through the coming Democratic convention. Because dementia is a degenerating disease, and because people are now looking more closely at its signs, we think he will humiliate himself and the Democrat Party in due time. We want this humiliation to come after the Democrats are past the point of being able to replace him with a more competent candidate. In short, we should let his dementia work for us.
There is good reason for the Biden Family to dig in. The entire family for years has been on the take. They have received millions of dollars from sketchy foreign sources through a tangled maze of LLCs and acted as unregistered foreign agents. The President, his son, and his brothers are all deeply implicated in bribery and the selling of a public office. Recently, even his personal physician was found also to have business ties with one Biden brother in the fleecing of a rural Florida healthcare chain. The whole clan is implicated and so now is the man supposed to give the public objective advice about the health of the President.
The only way some of them don’t go to prison is to keep Biden in the race and gamble on victory. They are not thinking of the country, they are in pure self-preservation mode.
But the Democrat Party is dividing itself between the bulk that still supports him and growing numbers of others who see their own political futures in jeopardy and are now calling for the President not to run. The same is occurring with supporters in the press and big-money donors.
Many in the corporate media are calling for Biden to step aside, and so are many party functionaries and elected officials. The Big Boy press conference has bought Biden some time, but those who have chosen to defect now must press forward because they have nowhere to go.
Honor and loyalty in politics are fleeting. The desire to stay in power will soon subsume many in the party and the internal rift should widen and intensify.
There is no way that Trump could design or implement a plan to put his opponents in this kind of a bind. It could only come by their own hand, which it has.
One wonders if the hand of providence is now involved.
We will close with this final observation after both some personal experience and talking to physicians familiar with Parkinson’s and dementia.
We know from White House visitor logs that a neurologist specializing in Parkinson’s has visited the White House many times. What we don’t know is what additional treatment has been administered off-site at the personal residence in Delaware. This President has spent an unusual amount of time at the personal residence. James Comer says he wants to depose the White House physician. More on this story will come out in the next months.
The disease is progressive. Those who suffer from it will rally and then regress but those fluctuations are within a steadily accelerating downward slope. There is a tendency for a person’s core personality to accentuate as the afflicted lose some of their social control mechanisms.
Biden’s performance will be good one day and bad the next, but most will be bad.
Joe Biden has always been poor on policy, a mean and dishonest politician with poor judgment. These personality traits will become more exaggerated as his abilities to hide them diminish with the general decline in mental acuity.
The so-called Progressives debating in the video above, also claim he has always been good on policy. Quite the contrary, he has been awful on policy whether it be foreign or domestic. He has been entirely captured by the “woke radicals” around him. He is both stubborn and mean and will resist those around him who wish to push him out and come up with a more viable candidate to battle with Trump.
The Democrats are vulnerable on the border, crime, inflation, and issues of war and peace. About all they have is their claim Republicans are “a threat to democracy.”
Let them battle. Let them tear each other apart. Let them exhaust their resources and donors. Let them dig their hole. The deeper the better. Let public attention to his mental state overwhelm their public relations. Let them keep digging a hole, and better yet, give them a shovel.
Late addendum: A terrifying assassination attempt has been made on the life of former President Trump. His defiant action right after the shooting will go down in history. He is one tough fellow. Given the angle of the shot, had he not suddenly turned his head to the right, the bullet would have gone through his skull. Instead, it grazed his right ear. The phrase “the hand of Providence” was once common in this country and you see it repeated throughout US history. Although foreign to the current ear, how else can one explain it? Bill Maher calls Trump, the luckiest motherfu**** alive. We prefer the “hand of Providence” for reasons both of taste and accuracy.
After all that has been thrown against him, even Maher dispairs that no one the Democrats can put up can now beat him.
Megyn Kelly, who has had her own mixup with Trump, recognizes the man could have chosen a comfortable life with his lovely family at his lovely home. He is going through all this trevail because he genuinely believes America is in decline and he has a chance to reverse that decline.
Maher suggests Trump is now unbeatable.
Yes, that may be true, IN A FAIR ELECTION.
Republicans need to continue to work at the grassroots level and remember it is the number of ballots that get counted that determines the outcome.
This is no time to get complacent. We must all keep working as if the election is too close to call.
