Billionaire Bill Ackman has “formally” endorsed President Donald Trump following the assassination attempt on Saturday in Pennsylvania.
Ackman’s endorsement post has been viewed by more than 19 million people since it was posted late Saturday night.
“I made this decision some time ago, and many of @X’s followers already know from my posts supporting Trump and criticizing @POTUSBiden,” Ackman said. “I haven’t made a formal announcement yet because I want to elaborate on my position and address the arguments made by others who oppose Trump.”
Ackman, the CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management, said he needed a “long-form post” to explain his thinking, and that he “didn’t feel the time or urgency” to write it before a gunman shot at a Trump rally wounding Trump above the ear, killing one rally-goer and seriously injuring two others.
Elon Musk also endorsed Donald Trump.
