MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — About 1,000 protesters took part in a “March on the Republican National Convention” on Monday led by communists, anarchists and anti-Israel demonstrators against former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

The protests were peaceful and even friendly — police officers guided the marchers and handed out bottles of water to journalists and bystanders in near-90-degree heat — but their message was radical, antagonistic and revolutionary.

Participants included local communist, socialist and anarchist organisations, as well as Black Lives Matter activists and anti-Israel demonstrators.

Anti-Israel participants were prominent in the march, which was decorated with Palestinian flags.
One placard read: “Israel does not exist. Free Palestine,” calling for the destruction of the Jewish state.

Some of the signs referenced Trump’s legal troubles, but a federal “dossier” lawsuit against Trump was dismissed earlier in the day after a judge ruled that the appointment of special counsel Jack Smith was unconstitutional.

Breitbart News spoke to one protester who traveled all the way from Bend, Oregon, and when asked if protesters should tone down their voices in light of the recent assassination attempt on President Trump, she said it was staged and that activists needed to “step up” their voices.
