The widow of the man killed when a gunman tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday has reportedly refused to speak to President Joe Biden.
Helen Comperatore, the widow of former Pennsylvania Fire Chief Corey Comperatore, who died trying to protect his wife and daughter after Trump was shot, said: Said of New York Post “I did not speak to Mr. Biden,” she said, adding that her husband “would not have wanted that.”
Helen added that Trump has yet to contact her.
“I didn’t speak to Biden,” Helen told the outlet. “I didn’t want to talk to him. My husband is a staunch Republican and I don’t think he would have wanted me to talk to him.”
One of the couple’s daughters, Allison, wrote on Facebook that her father “threw him to the ground” to protect her and her mother after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire and shot Trump.

The former president later revealed that he was shot above his right ear with a “penetrating bullet.” Two other people at the rally were also seriously injured.
“I have no ill will towards Joe Biden,” Helen told the outlet. “I’m not one to get involved in politics.”
Following the assassination attempt on Trump, Biden, former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, along with Democratic lawmakers Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), and Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) issued statements condemning the assassination attempt and saying that “this kind of violence has no place in the country.”
“I support Trump,” Comperatore’s widow added. “He’s the one I’m voting for, but I have no ill will towards Biden. He did nothing wrong to my husband. That’s what a sneaky 20-year-old kid did.”
