Shortly after Donald Trump announced that J.D. Vance would be his running mate, the Biden campaign went on the offensive.

The Democratic Party’s official 2024 presidential campaign account called him a “far-right MAGA extremist.”

The Trump campaign slammed the Biden team over the matter.

Fox News reported:

The Trump campaign fired back after President Biden quickly took to social media to slam Trump’s new running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance.

Caroline Sunshine, deputy director of communications for Trump 2024, disputed the attack in an interview with Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

“Given what’s happened in this country, with the assassination attempt on President Trump, I think it’s really surreal and really in bad taste that a sitting president of the United States, rather than calling for anything other than unity, would use this opportunity to attack President Trump’s new running mate and attack him over policy,” Sunshine said.

Sunshine continued, “This statement makes it clear that Joe Biden is not the person who can unite this country.”
