In the aftermath of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump on Saturday, there was confidence that we would see a kinder, gentler version of the left, but less than a week later, the wheels of unity are already starting to come off.
On Tuesday, Joe Biden told the NAACP that Trump and the Republican Party “want to deny you your freedom, your freedom to vote,” recalling his visit in 2016 to black voters when Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said he wanted to put black people back in chains.
That’s what he said about Romney… arguably the most centrist and boring politician in America. So don’t believe this nonsense about the unique threat of Donald Trump. Leftists would call Mr. Rogers a racist if he had an R after his name.
Biden calls for ‘de-escalating’, slams Trump in NAACP speech
Meanwhile, in every interview the president gives, including his lackluster and frankly sad one with NBC’s Lester Holt on Monday, Trump repeats the lie that he called Nazis very fine people, even though anyone with a clear ear and honest lips will recognize that he was referring to the debate over Confederate statues, not white supremacist tiki torches.
And then there’s Kamala Harris, who on Wednesday released a video, without providing any evidence, in which she said Trump’s vice presidential pick, J.D. Vance, “will be loyal only to Trump, not to our country,” essentially accusing him of treason and adding that he is promoting “extreme policies.”
Of course, Biden and Harris can flaunt these lies so comfortably because their sycophantic media refuses to call them out — in fact, they often repeat them themselves — and they can’t stop.
Amber Rose hits back at Joy Reid after criticising her conference speech: ‘Stop stoking racism’
Remember, just a day after Trump was nearly killed during a speech, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos said, “President Trump and his supporters were complicit in this violent rhetoric.” It’s pretty terrible to blame a man who was shot in the head.
Not to be outdone, MSNBC’s Joy Reid condemned Trump’s violent rhetoric, but also said, “I thought about the people trying to vote in Arizona, and there were men with long guns standing outside their polling places sending a message: ‘Vote the right way or I’m here with my gun.'”
Of course, when Black Panthers stood outside polling stations in Philadelphia in 2008, waving batons and shouting racist slurs at white people, the left thought it was simply patriotic civic action.
Joy Reid suggests Trump’s comments after assassination attempt ‘could not have avoided consequences’
The Lincoln Project is a den of stupidity and vice made up of former Republicans whose brains have been destroyed by Trump and who still circulate videos likening the former president to Hitler. The murder of husband and father Corey Comperatore at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday seems to mean nothing to them.
The first step to recovery in any area of life is admitting you have a problem. And it seems the Democrats and the crazed media have admitted they have a problem. But the problem isn’t political violence, it’s that Joe Biden’s chances of winning are sinking faster than a Steve Carlton slider.
Don’t get me wrong: if Democrats thought there was a path to the White House for Joe without lying about Trump and his supporters and painting them as evil racists, they would have taken it. But there is no such path.

For about five minutes, we heard the former party of Jefferson and Jackson switch to a softer economic message, before the party’s faithful were reminded that the average American voter knows exactly how much better their economic situation has improved under Trump.
The only way the Democratic Party can slow its march toward bitter division in America is for voters to punish these cynical shenanigans and let them know that if they risk destroying America and killing its people for politics, they will end up in a cold, hard political wilderness.

One of the best tests of whether someone deserves power is whether the retention of power is more important than using power for the good of society and the people. Right now, the Democrats are failing that test, with fatal consequences.
No, the left’s rhetoric is not going to soften, at least not during this election cycle. It will be up to voters to decide whether Democrats realize they need to find new tactics after November.
