Saturday, July 13NumberOfficers with the Hendersonville Police Department responded to a report of a child drowning in Drakes Creek in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

When detectives began investigating the child’s death, they identified the mother, Brandi Elito, as the person responsible for the death.

According to court documents, Elliott said he wanted to be alone “after a rough day.”

She continued to tell police that she left the apartment and went down the stairs, but her daughter came with her. The girl reportedly refused to leave Elliott alone and did not want to remain in the apartment by herself.

Elliott then took his daughter across the street and submerged her in shallow water “like a largemouth bass,” holding her down until he felt her “bubble,” then told her to stay still while he held her underwater, the complaint said.

After pulling the child from the water, Elliott realised what he had done and tried to revive the child with CPR.

The 7-year-old girl was later taken to a Hendersonville hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Elliott has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the Sumner County Jail.

A monument to the girl was erected near the place where she drowned.

The Hendersonville Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to call 615-265-5303 or Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615-594-4113.
