From cheating baby daddies to a highly publicized divorce, Khloe Kardashian has been through a lot in her life. Despite enduring a number of public scandals, the reality star spoke out on this week’s episode of The Kardashians Why she doesn’t go to therapy.
According to Kardashian, she’d seen “three or four” therapists, but nothing worked for her.
“I had to see a therapist for my pregnancy with Tatum,” Kardashian told best friend Malika Haqq about her son, Tatum, who was born via surrogate in 2022. “But I never connected with her. She just listens. I’m like, ‘I told you everything about my life. All the dark and satanic stuff. And you’re just like, ‘I get it.'”
Kardashian claims she has “never sought guidance” from a professional, and said a therapist once told her she “didn’t need therapy” because she handled things “very calmly.”
“It was a strange encounter,” she says. “I was saying, ‘I found my husband in a drug den at a motel,’ or whatever, and she was like, ‘Does that make you angry?’ And I was like, ‘No, I was very calm.’ And she was like, ‘Does that make you feel angry?’ And I was like, ‘No.’ And she was like, ‘I don’t think you really need me.'”
She continues, “I was like, ‘What? She’s firing me?’ I really didn’t understand. She’s breaking up with me? I didn’t understand what was going on, but I think my therapist told me to break up with her.”
Kardashian was, of course, referring to her marriage to former NBA player Lamar Odom, who she wed in 2009 on E!’s show. Keeping Up With the Kardashians The pair were in the midst of a tumultuous romance, but filed for divorce in 2013 following reports of an infidelity.
But before the divorce was finalized, Odom suffered a near-fatal overdose at a Las Vegas brothel in 2015. He later said, 12 seizures, 6 strokesHis lungs collapsed and his kidneys ruptured.
Kardashian stayed by her husband’s side throughout the tragic event, but their divorce was eventually finalized in 2016.
