Breitbart News reported that many Netflix users were excited to watch the film’s portrayal of Vance’s real-life ordeal, just hours after the former President Donald Trump named him as his running mate in the 2024 presidential election, catapulting him to national prominence.
Published by Vance Hillbilly Elegy Published in 2016, the book is a vivid portrayal of his impoverished childhood in the Rust Belt.
The book details the life of Vance, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the Iraq War before returning to the United States, graduating from Ohio State University and earning a law degree from Yale Law School.
