Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann called on CNN to fire one of its most prominent political commentators for juxtaposing former Presidents Trump and Biden in a manner that cast a favorable light on the Republican Party.
In the weeks since Biden’s widely criticized performance in the presidential debates, the president’s supporters have been at odds with critics who have called for him to step aside and put forward another candidate.
President Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt last week and Biden has contracted COVID-19, both events CNN’s Van Jones reported on Wednesday night.
“This is a terrible day. If you take a step back and look at the facts, you see strengths and weaknesses. Bullets don’t stop Trump. The virus only stopped Biden,” the former adviser to President Obama said.

This isn’t Olbermann’s first attack on the news network in the last month, when he made headlines after the debate when he called for the channel to be “burned.”[ed] under.”
“Literally, I’m suggesting at some point tonight CNN should go off the air out of embarrassment, fire everybody, lock down the building, make sure everybody’s outside, burn down the place of God,” he said.
Olbermann also called for CNN debate hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash to be “fired for journalistic misconduct.”
