Announcer accuses Tiger of being on ‘a lot of painkillers’

Golf legend Tiger Woods has sparked controversy and backlash among fans after an announcer accused him of taking “large amounts” of painkillers during a recent tournament.

During the first round of the British Open, held at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland, a Sky Sports announcer made disparaging comments about a golfer.

During the broadcast, Mark Law said Woods, a three-time tournament winner, seemed to be acting strangely.

“Looking at your eyes, I can’t help but think you’re taking copious amounts of painkillers to dull the pain,” Law asked.

“Some things don’t need to be said.”

As Men’s Journal Woods has reportedly been taking painkillers since undergoing multiple surgeries on his back and knees, and the outlet reported that he had hydrocodone and hydromorphone in his system after being arrested for drunk driving in 2017. Woods subsequently checked into rehab for prescription painkiller addiction.
