CNN published an article titled “Inside Joe Biden’s ‘doom loop’.”

The article cites conversations with Democratic Party officials, White House and re-election campaign aides, and advocacy groups.

“I don’t think you can find anyone who is saying informally that he should stay,” said one aide quoted in the article.

“There’s a growing sense that the game is over,” said another.

CNN reported:

CNN conversations with two dozen Democratic officials and aides from the White House, reelection headquarters and advocacy groups show how bleak and confusing the situation is, even as Trump’s rambling and combative speech to the party convention on Thursday night offered the Biden campaign its first ray of hope in weeks.

Even White House and Wilmington aides who remained supportive of the president after the debate are beginning to feel the strain. They were fond of saying in 2020 that Joe Biden won because the party called it, not the pundits. Now it seems like the party called it again, and the president is prolonging the pain, the damage to his party, and the humiliation by the hour.

Some are saying they will quit. Some are already “quietly quitting.” They’re just waiting for Joe Biden to finish, and many believe it’s inevitable.

“I don’t think you can find anyone who is saying informally that he should stay,” said one person who has been involved in some of the conversations.

“There’s a growing realization that the game is over,” a Biden aide said.

Donald Trump is widening his lead over Joe Biden.

The Hill reported:

Former President Trump has widened his lead over President Biden in recent polls following last weekend’s assassination attempt.

A CBS News poll released Thursday found that 52% of likely voters said they would choose Trump for president, while 47% said they would choose Biden.

Trump’s approval rating has risen from 50 percent in the July 3 survey, while Biden’s has fallen by 1 percentage point.

Biden did well in battleground states but still fell short of Trump: 51% of voters in those states said they would choose Trump, compared with 48% for Biden.
